поставил дрова на видюху nvidia fx5200
иду в NVIDIA x Server Settings пытаюсь поменять разрешени на 1280-1024 (монитор элт 17")
в винде все отображалось нормально а здесь приходиться скролить чтобы увидеть нижнюю панель
и частоту больше чем в 60 нельзя поствать
стоит все под Kubunt"ой 7.04 это как нить лечиться?

пока у меня ни чо не происходит даже не запускается)
поставил старый конфиг все равно ни чо не происходит
на sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start отвечает что уже запущенно хотя ни фига нет
пытаюсь сделать рестарт /etc/init.d/kdm restart тож ноль эффекта
пока пишу с бука

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace убивает Х :)

1. Посмотри если указан правельный драйвер в xorg.conf
2. В xorg.conf можно указать разрешение и частоту без ограничения
3. если не боишься консоли есть программа для настроики xorgcfg или xorgconfig

пытался через это поправить конфиг dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
терь экран вообше при загрузке тухнет(((

сделай бэкап этого конфига и найди дефолт конфиг и поменяй

запусти xorg с ключом -configure

попробуй третьей строчкой с конца (после Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
дописать еще строчку
Virtual 1280 1024
Также отгрепай /var/log/Xorg0.log на предмет строк, начинающихся с
(EE) и (??)
а вообще сам десктоп не тормозит?

Virtual 1280 1024 не помогло
да вроде не тормозит ток инода бывает чать окна пропадает если закрыть дургим окном :confused:

Проблема съехавшего экрана лечится установкой проприетарных драйверов (убунтовских).
Либо поставь это (http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_173.14.05.html) - 100% перестанет выпадать!!!

именно эти дрова я и ставил по манам с форума убунты не помогло
